Developing the style and approach of the programme series

Now that you have identified your target group(s), how do you want to, and how do you think that you effectively could, build up the change you wish to see?

Creating an effective programme series also depends upon the approach you choose and the style you want to use for the presentation.

In terms of approach, one of the important ways to consider is how to effectively build ways for the community to be in the studio as co-creators of programmes about their lives, their joys, and challenges. Again, this lends authority and authenticity to the programme, it builds powerful insights for the co-creators and new experiences for the listeners.

Levels of community engagement in your Public Health programme

In the Danish E3J Workshop, the public health specialist Bjarne Bruun Jensen proposed a model for different levels of engagement by the community at different stages in. the programme planning and execution. This inspired one of the participating radio stations to re-think their approach to the participating role of the audience:
